Alcoholism in Teenagers

Programs and other content coming soon...

Today, alcoholism is not only prevalent among adults, but also at younger and younger ages, and is particularly prevalent among teenagers. It is hardly taken seriously. But it can have serious consequences in the short and long term. It creates physical, mental and social problems.

Excessive drinking at such a young age can be caused by a number of factors. Many people feel that in order to fit in better they need to drink alcohol or take it somewhere to have a reason to be invited.

The pattern brought from home is also a big influence on this. If there is a high level of alcohol consumption in the family, or a very strict prohibition against it, children are more likely to develop an addiction.

It is also used as a stress reliever, to forget their problems and just have fun. Alcohol solves this in the short term, but in the long term it just leads to more problems that they can't solve without more drinking because of the addiction they have developed by then.

Alcohol can have a detrimental effect on the developing brain, impairing memory, learning skills and damaging the nervous system. So young people who drink to forget about their bad grades and the anxiety that comes with it only make things worse. Regular alcohol consumption can lead to serious liver damage and other organ diseases.

Alcoholism can often lead to depression, anxiety and many people become aggressive, alienating themselves from friends and loved ones. Teenagers' emotional and mental lives can be more unstable anyway, and alcohol can exacerbate these problems.

When under the influence of alcohol, young people are more prone, for example, to get into accidents, commit crimes or have unwanted sexual relationships, which can drive away any love interest.

The most important measures against this are education and prevention, with strong support from their families and parents. If alcoholism has already developed, the most important thing is professional help. It is also important for young people to be in a group of people who do not drink alcohol.

So, teenage alcoholism is a serious problem that not only affects their current physical and mental health, but can also affect their future lives.
